About Henson
Beautiful boy Henson is a loving and gentle soul. He is super affectionate and will actively seek out affection from people. You will find him hanging out on the couch with his foster family or following them around the house most of the time. Henson needs a new home where someone is home most of the time, where he is included as part of the family and allowed inside as he has suffered some anxious behaviours when left in the past. He will need his new household to be calm and stable as he can easily be over-stimulated or hyper-aroused and finds firm loud voices intimidating. Henson loves kids but as he needs stability in his environment the kids would need to be older, able to follow instructions and not over stimulate him in play.
Henson loves other dogs – big, small, puppies – he adjusts his play to suit his friends. When first meeting new dogs he can be a little forward but will then follow the other dogs’ cues and match their energy levels in play. Henson will need another dog in his new home for companionship and play. This dog should ideally be a confident older dog who can be a stable role model to help Henson settle into his new life. Henson is moderately active, always up for a play or walk, but one decent walk per day is sufficient for him. He can pull a bit on the lead during the first half of his walk so would benefit from an anti-pull harness to make walks a little easier. Henson would love a decent sized yard so he can stretch his legs and do zoomies. He is a large small dog who weighs around 12-14kg.
We are looking for an experienced home for Henson where he can blossom and enjoy his life. He is responsive to training and loves his food but shows no food aggression and takes treats gently. Henson has good recall and is house trained. He does get car sick after about 20-25mins into a trip. When left at home he enjoys interactive toys such as stuffed Kongs and this helps him avoid things he shouldn’t chew. We are looking for a home in a quieter neighbourhood without too much passing foot traffic to help maintain calmness in his environment. His new home should not include pocket pets, birds or cats as they can be fun to chase. Ultimately, a home that won’t feed his higher energy side and will foster his calm side is a must as this is when you get the best dog out of him. The best dog in him is a wonderful fun companion who will bring a lot of love into your life.
If you think that you can give him the home he needs then please complete a dog adoption enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
