About Elsa
6.5-year-old elegant Elsa is looking for a forever home who have lots of love to give and time to dote on her.
Elsa first came to Amazing Greys in 2020 and was a shy little thing who over time became her human’s little shadow. She was adopted late last year but unfortunately her families work situation has changed unexpectedly and she’s once again looking for her perfect people.
Miss Elsa is a friendly and quirky hound who loves her new life of testing couches and squeaky toys. She does expert zoomies, adores belly rubs and ear scritches, and did I mention she is INSANE about squeaky toys?! Her dislikes include thunder and fireworks.
Elsa is perfect on leash and doesn’t pull, she prefers to just plod along at her own pace, sniffing the world around her. She is generally friendly to other dogs she meets, however can be a little reactive to some small dogs. Elsa loves long walks on the beach (how romantic) but is not a fan of rainy-day walks.
Elsa currently lives in a larger apartment and has lovely house manners. A home with some outdoor space to play would be a bonus but is not essential provided she gets regular exercise and enrichment/stimulation during the day.
Elsa is living as an only dog and enjoys being the sole recipient of her human’s attention. However, she also enjoys meeting up with other greyhounds for walks and could go into a home with another friendly greyhound or large dog breed.
Elsa has struggled with separation anxiety and has only been home alone for around 30 minutes at a time. She has improved from not coping with being alone at all, but her new home will need to patiently and slowly build up her confidence when home alone.
Elsa is not suited to living in a home where she will be alone for extended periods. She would do best with a retired couple, people permanently working from home, or a family where people are home a lot. Elsa hasn’t had a lot of interaction with children however is generally friendly and gentle. She can be boisterous when playing and for this reason, would not be suited to homes with toddlers or smaller children.
If you have lots of love to give Elsa, she will return the favour by shadowing you around the home and entertaining you as she plays with her squeaky toys. If you think you sound like the right match for Elsa, please contact us at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au.
In summary:
• No small dogs, cats, or pocket pets
• Elsa needs a home where people are home a lot and can work on ‘alone time’ training
• No homes with children under 10. Elsa often plays rough with her squeaky toys and doesn’t always remember her size.
Before applying, please consider:
• What your work/social commitments will look like as we approach a “covid-normal” state
• The long term financial and time commitments of having a forever dog
