About Bailey
Well, what an interesting boy I have for you here!! Bailey is such a handsome chap, who looks totally like a standard dachshund, only longer...hahaha! He is the result of a backyard breeder, who thought it would be a wonderful idea to breed from his female pure-bred Rottweiler and his male pure bred Dachshund 🙄
The pups were all sold by the backyard breeder, and after six months or so, Bailey’s owner decided she could no longer keep him, and gave him to a couple who had bought one of the other pups in the litter (Brandi, a female, who I will list on here shortly.) This couple have six young children, and found that these two dogs were too much for them, rang us for help and surrendered them.
So having told you all the back story, Bailey needs a forever home - a real forever home, where he will be cherished and loved for the rest of his life.
Let me tell you about him......he is a chap who has spent his life in the back yard, so he craves attention, he absolutely LOVES human interaction! He is excellent around humans of all ages and great with kids. However, he has had no tuition, so does jump up when he comes to see you, and as such he would be best around older kids, while you teach him his manners. He listens well when he is on his own with me, and is now sitting when asked. Bailey is very food orientated, which is great for teaching. He would definitely benefit from an Obedience class or Preschool etc. He has been perfect with the other dogs he has met in care with him.
I have included a couple of videos of him walking on leash - he loves being out and about, and is happy being on leash. He can be very strong however and needs some more practice at this. By the way, he also is a wonderful traveller in the car, and enjoys being out and about.
His recall is amazing, he comes to being called better than my own dogs! Bailey loves water, so a home near the beach or a lake would be terrific for him.
Having said all that, he does need secure fencing, he will clear my fencing ( my hip height) easily.......not to run off, but to be a sticky beak and see what is going on here.
PLEASE NOTE our location is Moree, Northern NSW, and the only way to adopt Bailey is to drive to collect him. So, when you enquire about him, please tell us that you can commit to the drive. Also ensure that all members of your household are happy to adopt Bailey, and tell us that in your enquiry.
Lastly, if you need Landlords permission, tell us that you already have it.
We need to know the type of life you could give him. How long would he be alone during the day, if at all? Do you have kids? Any other pets?
Bailey will be ready to leave here from Weds 15th Nov to start his new amazing life with you.
