Introducing the adorable 10 month old whirldwind that is affectionately known as Ben.
Ben is a Chihuahua X who although loves running around with a stuffed toy in his mouth and wrestling with the big dogs, can also be a quiet, calm, cuddly movie watching companion.
Ben has a lot of displacement in his short life and understandably has some baggage due to this. He has been very mishandled and so can be fearful of strangers. He warms up quickly, but will require calm, confident owners who can show him that people are safe and continue to slowly and gently introduce him to new things and build his confidence.
Ben has moved a lot so will need a stable, quiet, calm home where he can set some roots. He would be ok with another dog given that dog is a calm, confident and patient one as he will initially be fearful and shows that fear with snapping.
He is not suited to young children, or people who are intending on having young children in the near future. Older children may be ok if they are gentle and understand how to handle animals with respect and give Ben space when he needs it. Bens ideal family have a steady routine, and not much foottraffick. He is not suited to being left alone full time.
Ben is a sweet natured boy who loves a cuddle and a kiss when he feels safe. With ongoing training and positive reinforcement he will undoubtably be a wonderful companion.
It is important to note Ben is still a puppy and Chihuahua's can live up to 20 years so Bens adopters will be people who are ready to make a long term commitment.
