About Aubrey
Aubrey is a very sweet little girl. It may take her a little longer than others to come up to you. But once she does, all she wants is just a little loving and a good belly scratch that sends those back legs kicking.
As she becomes comfortable, her personality really shines. She is such a funny goofballl, who can very easily keep herself entertained for hours on end. She loves nothing more than chasing leaves, or a simple fluffy squeaky toy she can run around with.
Aubrey gets on with most dogs & has been spending a few days a week at a local doggy daycare. They are by far her favourite days of the week & rarely wants to leave at the end of the day.
She came into care an extremely fearful girl who would just shut down. She's come a long way in care and now needs the right new family that will play an integral part of her future development.
Any family looking to adopt this stunning girl, will need to have experience in developing fearful dogs and be able to demonstrate how they will help Aubrey build further confidence.
She loves going on her morning adventures & walks very well on lead. Though she is still a little nervous at the time of being put on a leash. Once the leash is on, she is ready to get going. She is very food motivated & is always apparently ‘starving’ but don’t let those large eyes fool you.
Aubrey will be looking for a special home who are able to take the time to get to know her. She will need to continue her training & socialisation and understand that the big world is not so scary. She would do well in a home with a (preferably male) dog that is stable and confident and easy going to show her the ropes. We have experienced some resource guarding with Aubrey, so her new family needs to set up expectations correctly from the start.
She would do equally as well as an only dog with a family around most of the time, however, she must have the opportunity to play and rumble with other dogs on a regular and consistent basis. She has not been tested with cats or small animals, but does chase birds around the yard.
Aubrey has come a very long way since coming into care, overcoming many fears about life in a home. We are sure with some time and the right family, she will continue to flourish in her home.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
