Requirements:
• A calm, loving and inclusive home
• A an older, gentle resident doggy playmate
• An environment where Ettie will not be left without human company for long periods of time.
Ettie is a gentle, loving girl who loves to go for a walk and a ride in the car. Ettie likes to say hi to all the people and most of the dogs we meet on our walks and walks well on lead. The longest she has walked is just over 3kms and she does this easily. But if we don't go for a walk...well that's ok too.
Ettie greeted her foster carers two grandsons with love and is happy to follow them or lay down for a belly rub. When Ettie arrived, she was a little standoffish with our 12-year dog, but after a week they now get along very well. If I lean down to pat my dog, Ettie is right there for a pat too.
She had no front teeth when she arrived into care, and her other teeth didn't look in good condition. She had the problem teeth removed, so now only has her bottom middle and back teeth. Ettie has learnt to sit most of the time she is asked and is well on the way to waiting when asked. She knows her name and comes when called. She is housetrained and sleeps all night in her carers bedroom.
Ettie took a week or so to settle into her foster home, as she would fret a bit when her carer left the house. She is now comfortable when left alone at home, without showing signs of stress and now she is showing signs of playing, but not for long. Ettie is quite happy to lay around wherever her humans are. Preferably Ettie's new home will either have a middle age or older dog to keep her company, or maybe her humans stay home most of the time and will take her with them when they can.
