About Banjo
This is Banjo, the Border Collie x Kelpie that was surrendered to us as he did not want to work livestock. His former owner tells us that he is loving and loyal, but would prefer to lounge around the house rather than get into the paddock and muster sheep.
So as a 'failed' working dog - what is the future for Banjo? Well, his future is very bright. He is young, very intelligent and willing to learn. He already has some basics and has shown us what a cuddle-dog he really is.
He does like to run, so he will need to have an active family. As a dog that is used to having space, he would not be suited to townhouse or apartment living. He doesn't really know what toys are for, so we are teaching him that toys are fun.
He would be better suited as an only dog, however he has been exercised with female dogs and puppies without any issues.
Everytime we try to show him something new, he gives us 'sad' eyes and climbs into a lap for a cuddle. We think this is where he prefers to be - in the arms of someone who will love him.
