Murphy had a rough start to his life and was found as a stray along with his two sisters. While his sisters where more friendly and where able to adjusted quickly, unfortunately Murphy was very wary of humans and new environments and needed extra time with his foster carer to allow him to blossom into the more confident kitty he is today.

While Murphy can still be shy when he first meets you, once you've gained his trust he is a very cuddly and playful kitten. Once comfortable, this ginger kitty will show you his true self - a very loving and playful little guy.

However Murphy is NOT a kitten for a first-time cat owner nor someone who has never had a cat in their life before.

Murphy can still be very unsure of new environments and will head for the nearest hidey hole until he has had the time to explore and check everything out. Due to this he will need someone with a lot of patience to allow him to adjust.

It will help if his new home had a quiet room he could settle into first to allow you to gain his trust before he explores the rest of his new home.

Ideally, Murphy would do well with an experienced ‘cat person’ who understands he will take time to adjust to a move. We do not recommend he go to a home with small children (older teens who understand cat behaviour would be fine).

When relaxed, Murphy loves his toys and even loves to play fetch. He will need someone who will spend plenty of time playing with him or has another young cat who likes to play, as Murphy can be a little mischievous and will make his own fun when bored.

Murphy can also be a very cuddly kitty and will snuggle up for pats and cuddles whenever he gets the chance - purring the entire time.

Murphy is okay with other cats and would be fine with calm dogs that are not prone to chasing, as long as he is introduced slowly and gradually over time.
