Hi everyone!
My name is Agatha and I am a beautiful girl in search of her furever home! I was rescued from death row in a council pound and have been wonderful to care for since entering my foster home. It is not believed I have ever raced, and I am a very social and happy girl.
I currently live with another large breed female dog, and 2 cats. I don't mind the cats, but I would prefer not to live with any. They are a bit mean to me and it makes me nervous. The other dog here is great and we get along perfectly! I am currently living behind a 4ft fence and show no sign of wanting to escape, so would need a fence this high or higher to keep me safe. I currently sleep for around 15hrs a day and enjoy 15min walks daily. I may be interested in longer walks or jogs with you, but you'd need to help me train up and get fit as I am more interested in couch potato life!
I was nervous at the vet but let them do what they needed to do. I can be a little nervous when I first meet new humans, but I warm up quickly. A typical greyhound, I have trouble sitting due to tight muscles in my legs, but I am learning other things eg come, inside, outside well. I require minimal grooming and don't bark often.
I am well suited to a family with greyhound experience or willingness to educate themselves prior to meeting me, who has either no children or children 8yrs +. I don't want to live with cats, but would like a dog friend if possible if they are over 20kg.

PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS FROM OUTSIDE Queensland. All pets must be collected from Toowoomba or Brisbane. Transport cannot be arranged by Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld- this is adopter responsibility. We appreciate your understanding.
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
