CAT FRIENDLY 🐈
This awesome boy has energy to spare. He is so happy in a family environment and wants to love his humans as much as he can. Reakou is a big smoocher, and is learning that he needs to sit calmly for cuddles, not jump up for attention. As Reakou is so energetic and enthusiastic, he needs a family that will exercise him frequently. I’m sure with some further training he would make an excellent running buddy. He would also need his family to not leave him alone for more than a few hours at a time as he may become lonely, bored and possibly bark or do some gardening for you.
Reakou is super receptive to training, especially when there is roast chicken involved. He sits on command (as long as he is engaged at the time) and waits for his food. He loves to chew on egg cartons, dirty socks and library books but responds very well to redirection to more appropriate chew things. He sleeps indoors next to a human bed on his mat as he gets lonely outdoors on his own. He sleeps very solidly at night, but will happily accompany you to the toilet or to the kitchen for a drink before walking you back to bed again.
With some consistent work, Reakou is learning that the world is a friendly and fun place. He is still uncertain around small children, large trucks and deep yelling voices. He walks well on a lead and sits happily in the car attached to a harness. Reakou will need his family to commit to further training and he will need a job to keep his very smart working brain engaged. Due to his energy levels, he is not suitable to live in a small yard or courtyard.
Reakou is currently living with 2 cats, a puppy and an older kelpie. He loves them all and tries continually to win the cats over for licks, without much success so far. This does not stop him trying to love them though. Due to lockdown, Reakou is still a little unsure of new people initially, as he hasn’t had many visitors to the house. He warms up quite quickly, however, and then lavishes his new friend with love and kisses.
To summarise, Reakou would love a family with a family with a large block, home a lot or willing to take him with you when leaving, lots of exercise and “work” to do, with mature friends to train and love him. He would like pats, pats and pats with a few tummy rubs thrown in for good measure.
