About Bam Bam
Introducing Bambam, a 3.5 yr old gentle soul, Wolfhound x Staffy, who is looking for a patient and loving forever home. Our lovely Bambam hasn’t had a good start to life - sadly he has lost one of his front legs. Since coming into foster care he is learning about life outside the yard and he is certainly making up for lost time!
Bambam has learnt to love to walk whenever he can - in fact he prefers to go out once a day or more if you’re up for it! After he’s tuckered out he will happily spend the day relaxing either on his bed or near his people, keeping them company. He gets along well with other dogs and would be fine with or without another dog in his new home.
Bambam has learnt some basic manners - he is food motivated and will sit for treats and takes them gently. He loves his food and bones - getting super excited when dinner is ready which results in him jumping in circles, which is a joy to watch. He is not possessive of food and will sit and wait for his bowl to be placed down.
Due to his late start in training Bambam needs a family who will commit to his ongoing training needs to solidify what he is currently learning and expand on it. At times he can be quite independent and strong-willed, he is also quite strong on the lead but listens when pulling too much, so will need a family who is confident with walking him. He gets excited when he sees another dog on a walk and is not selective of the dogs he chooses to approach.
Bambam is fine in the yard while his foster parents go to work but as soon as one of them is home he loves to come inside for companionship and to snuggle. All he wishes is to be integrated into his family’s day to day life. He is toilet trained and is happy to be left inside or outside when you’re at work. He’ll love a medium sized grassy backyard with plenty of room to roam.
We’re looking for a family that will take their time to gain Bambam’s trust while building upon the training he is getting. He hasn't been tested with children but would be fine with older dog savvy kids. He is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets.
