About Stanley DL2558
Stanley is so well behaved, independent, chilled and well-mannered indoors and around the home.
He doesn’t jump up, waits for permission to get on the couch, doesn’t destroy your garden... just a little digging when he is trying to catch bugs. Catching bugs in the garden is Stanley’s favourite pastime. He can spend hours chasing his bugs and we can only imagine this is how he entertains himself during the day. He seems quite content and doesn’t get anxious if home alone.
A smart boy, Stanley knows sit, stay, offers a paw, and he knows “bed” and can put himself to bed at night – unless he has been on the couch and he thinks he is allowed on there for the night! His basic obedience is pretty good inside the house, especially during mealtimes. He doesn’t bother you at all and will wait patiently nearby. He is fully housetrained and hasn’t had any accidents indoors. He is still learning his name and doesn’t have the greatest recall yet, but he does come when called most of the time.
While he does enjoy spending some time outside during the day, Stanley also loves to come into the house for a lay down or to hang out with you. He especially likes to be with you at night or while you are watching TV. He will nudge you for pats and snuggles, and always likes to be nearby so you can keep a hand on him.
While Stanley is a real joy to have in the home, he does need continued training for outings. He can forget his manners outside when he gets distracted and over stimulated. He is lead-reactive to other dogs and pulls on the lead, so will need continued socialisation and lead training to improve this. He will be best suited to a home where he can be your only dog. He hasn't yet met kids/cats.
Stanley is quite the catch! If you'd love to welcome this sweet dog into your home, email DFLadoption@gmail.com today to apply.
Medical notes
Medium sized dog at 24kg.
