About Max ~ 19mo Kelpie (on trial 7/4/21)
Hi I’m Max. I’m a 19 month old male Kelpie.
I haven’t had the best start to life being surrendered to the pound because I wasn’t a “working dog”. I am a handsome pup who is learning to trust humans and how to behave like the best doggo I can be. My foster sister has been a great help with this, showing me how to play with toys and playing bitey face, chasies and has shown me how to dig big holes to lay in.
Because I am still learning I will need a family who will be extremely patient with me, understand and work on my behaviours. Continued training is a must BUT I don’t like crowds and parks/Bunnings trips, they are too much for me. I am well behaved in the car but I really don’t like going in it. I love walking on a lead however. I’m not a typical Kelpie. I don’t run laps and don’t chase the ball. Squeaky toys scare me a little, less now than they did before my foster sister showed me it was ok.
I would prefer a family who will include me in their life but won’t overwhelm me with love and affection. I am good with kids but would prefer not to have children under the age of 12. I must have another dog to live with. One who will play with me but isn’t too rough. I currently sleep in an outdoor space with 3 other dogs. I am not used to being inside and get a bit scared being inside. I am not toilet trained at all.
