About Rosie ~ 1yr Old Cattle X (review apps 5/11/20)
Hi my name is Rosie, I am a sweet little 1 year old cattle dog cross labrador. I am very friendly and playful with dogs of all sizes and making new friends is one of my favourite things. I would love to join my future family for their morning coffees at their favourite cafe, on a walk and an explore on the beach, a ride in the car, or just a cuddle on the lounge at home. As long as I can be with my family I am a happy girl.
I am a great walker on my harness and lead, I do not pull and like a leisurely walk, but need a bit of encouragement when going up hills, other than that I have great manners when I meet other dogs and really love to say hi and sniff little children as well (I am always gentle with them). Sometimes out in the world I can get very nervous! Certain sounds scare me and I will try and hide behind the person closest to me, but with reassurance I am back to my usual self in no time. My nervous behaviour extends to being away from my family. If I am left at home by myself in the yard, without another dog companion, I will dig and bark. So my new family should be home a lot, willing to take me with them on their outings or have another dog to keep me happy and feeling safe while they are away.
My new family will need to be patient with me as I am still outgrowing some of my puppy behaviours, like chewing, and learning basic commands. I have just learnt to sit in the last couple of days and am pretty proud of myself. My foster mum is teaching me, but I am not a dog who is very interested in food so finding the right treats to motivate me and keep me interested is the hardest part of training. A family with patience and experience with dogs would suit me best to make sure I can continue learning to be the best pup I can be. I am very smart so I can get bored easily, I will need a constant rotation of heavy duty chew toys to keep me interested and entertained, this also means I will track down any shoes I can or anything left on the ground. Have I mentioned that my future family will have to be patient with me?
I am a very sweet and loving girl who needs a home where I can get lots of attention and time out in the world with my human and dog friends. I am friendly with cats, but not suitable for a family with birds or pocket pets. I’m on the small size for a medium dog, but that does not mean I don’t want to curl up on your lap or snuggle up to you in bed. I am also crate trained, and will rest and sleep happily as long as I can see my family.
