About Bob ❤️ Poodle x Maltese (On Trial 2/11/20)
Bob is a Poodle x Maltese (aka "Moodle"). 🐶 He is 5 years and 2months old. He is a perfect gentleman and born to be your faithful companion. When you sit down, he'll be next to you or on your lap. When you move around your house and garden he'll be by your side, gazing up at you with adoring eyes.
Bob is just divine ❤️. We can't find anything negative to say about him! He has no behavioural or health issues.
He is young and playful. He loves fetching a ball and playing with it before bringing it back. He likes soft toys and to roll a giggle ball or a treat ball around.
He has some basic training and will sit and shake hands. He is super smart and could learn lots more if you want to teach him using positive reinforcement training.
Bob LOVES going for a walk and walks very nicely on a harness and lead. He likes to stop and check out all the fascinating smells which tell him who's been there before him. He shouldn't be let off lead until he's had more training to return when called. He's good in the car. 🚗
Bob is in foster care with 4 other small dogs. He gets along well with them and tries to play with them, but so far, they're not interested. He would be great as an only dog or living with another small, friendly dog. We haven't introduced him to any cats. He's good at home alone for a couple of hours while you go out to run errands, but not good home alone all day.
Bob is very much an inside boy. He is housetrained. He's not a nuisance barker but will let you know when someone comes to the door.
Bob has a gorgeous, curly, non-shedding coat which means no dog hair on your clothes or in your house. However, it also means that he needs regular combing (every few days depending on length) and bathing (every few weeks). He also requires professional clipping every 4 to 6 weeks and this will cost approximately $70 so you need to be prepared for this if you want a non-shedding dog.
Bob has always been very well cared for and loved. He was reluctantly surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle by his owners were unable to care for him when their children became seriously ill. They were very sad to let him go but we promised them that we'd find Bob a loving home.
Bob is a small dog, weighing 6.6kgs and his birthday is 28th of August 2015. He is a young, active and healthy little boy with most of his life ahead of him. Small dogs like Bob typically live to age 15 or 16. His teeth are good because his owner was brushing his teeth twice a week. He is vet checked and healthy.
We are looking for a forever home for Bob where there is someone home most of the time who will make him a big part of their lives; to love him, play with him, take him for a daily walk, and let him sit on their lap. He needs a grassy backyard so isn't suitable for apartments or small courtyards. He is good with children but not suited to live with children under 16. He would suit an active, newly retired couple or single person or a middle-aged couple or single where someone works from home.
If you would like Bob to be your loyal companion, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt (this is required). If you have any questions after filling in the questionnaire, please contact Terri by email to drn.terri@gmail.com. Please allow 3 days for a reply because I think Bob will be popular.
Bob is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). He available for adoption to NSW and ACT.
Bob's adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, recently vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
