About Robbo
ROBBO
English Staffy x Jrt
This little man will need a dedicated owner to his training as he has the staffy personality in his little short body
Dues to his sometimes excitable mouthy behavior definitely no children
This guy is full of character!! He has a lot of love to give and definitely plays favorites!
When he first arrived he was over excited and was difficult to control under any circumstance. Wouldn’t respond to commands or treats and just ran around like a mad man!
Fast forward to today, and he now spends inside time as quiet time, he rests and relaxes on his bed and knows with a few stern words what he can and can’t do.
FOOD
Robbo has been eating dry puppy food since he arrived and grazes on it all day he seems quite content with being fed morning and night. Being young I haven’t tried him with other foods as yet
TOILETING
Robbo can hold all day long if he wants to. He holds all night in the laundry until he’s let out in the morning. I think with a doggy door he will be absolutely fine.
COMMANDS/TRAINING
There are a lot of commands Robbo knows and a lot he likes to ignore. He is a very smart puppy and he will push your buttons to see when you give up.
Sit, wait, lay, gentle, bed, here, etc etc.... if he didn’t know it, he’s learnt it very quickly.
Robbo takes stern commands well and to learn something new he needs treats and learns very quickly!
KIDS
Unfortunately Robbo is very excitable and needs strong stern commands to keep him inline. I have found this is difficult for kids to keep up. He also loves to nip while playing still being a puppy and it takes someone being assertive to stop this. Robbo is not suitable for a home with kids.
CATS/DOGS
Robbo is not great with other dogs. I don’t believe he came across many prior to staying with us. We have gone for walks and he spends a lot of time yelling out to every dog in the neighborhood! As the walks go on he gets tired and the yelling gets less but it’s still there.
BED TIME
Ohhhh does Robbo love to nap!!! He spends all day napping in the sun! When it comes to bed time he knows what to do. He has a kennel outside which he has pulled his blanket out of as he prefers to sleep under the stars, or in a hole he has dug in the garden. Otherwise happily takes himself to the laundry to his comfy big bed for a good nights sleep.
He sleeps all the night and wakes about 7.30-8 ready to go!!
TIME ALONE
Robbo has had a lot of time on his own due to work commitments. He’s quite destructive if he gets the chance. He LOVES to play with lots of toys. Squeaky toys are his favorite along with rope toys that can’t be pulled apart. He will play on his own for hours and then sleep!
Robbo will need minimum time on his own as he prefers to be with his human friends!
ACTIVITIES/WALKS
At the start Robbo was very unsure how to go for a walk. He would pull and walk sideways and bark at everything. Now after a good handful of walks Robbo is starting to understand how to do it.
Walking with a harness and some treats helps a lot. As mentioned he loves to call out to every dog he thinks he sees and will need a lot of training when it comes to interacting with other dogs. I don’t believe he will be any good at a dog park without training as he has selective hearing!
COMMUNICATION
Robbo will talk to you all day and night if you let him. He talks in his sleep, while he’s walking and interrupts you when you’re telling him off.
He will listen when he wants and usually if it’s just you and him time and training will help
Him listen.
Robbo is very easily trained. He needs a home where he gets 100% attention. No kids. No other animals and preferably a single person h
