About Pippa ~ 7yr Old Border Collie X
Pippa is a female 7 year old Border Collie cross who is a gorgeous brindle and white colour. Pippa loves to be around people and made to feel a part of the family as they go about their day to day business. Evenings she is where you are and feels safest sleeping on a dog bed in the bedroom.
Pippa would benefit being with a family who is home more often than not. She will need to be an inside dog with access to outside as she feels stressed when locked outdoors and will scratch and damage the door or escape her yard to seek the safety she feels in human company. As long as she has access to inside she has no desire to escape the yard and will chill out all day.
Pippa is submissive and extremely good with other dogs of all sizes. She would love to have the company of another dog who is of a quiet nature to match her own quiet nature. She would however also be fine to be an only dog as she will only be adopted by a family who is home often. When left at home alone she is very well behaved as long as she has access to inside. A dog door is necessary for her to be a part of your family.
Pippa requires an understanding and patient family as she has a storm phobia. She feels safe if you pop her harness and lead on. Walking her around the house helps and brushing her coat calms her. Music played in the background helps to drown out the noise of thunder. This noise causes her the most distress.
Pippa is quiet, lazy dog for her breed. She likes to sit around with the family and gets along well with children. Although not a chaser of balls, she does like to have soft toys to play with and would benefit from enrichment toys to prevent any unwanted behaviour. Pippa will also need a good walk every day to give her body the exercise it needs and her brain healthy stimulation. She walks well on the lead and is always friendly with dogs that cross our path. These outings are Pippa’s favourite time of the day. She is especially good in the car in anticipation of an adventure.
Pippa is in foster care in Maryland, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and is only available for local adoption. To meet Pippa, please submit an online application or contact Jaime by email jaihol@bigpond.com
Pippa’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms.
