About Scruffy
I was surrendered to Lort Smith as my previous carers were no longer able to provide me with the activity and mental enrichment that I so desperately require. So, I am now on the lookout for my perfect new home.
I am a super enthusiastic and energetic young man with lots of energy to burn, so a family that will be able to keep up with me and provide me with lots of enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied would be the best fit for me.
I can be a little over the top and boisterous when I am excited so my ideal family will be willing to take me to obedience training so I can brush up on my manners and continue my training.
My size and excitability means my new family need to be mindful of my interactions with new people and dogs. A home with no small children or small animals please.
I am partial to relaxing massages and cuddles with my companions. I am extremely tactile and if you know my breed, you will know that we love nothing more than just hanging out with our best friends.
It would be great if my adopters are home more often than not as I would not cope with being left alone for too long.
Whilst at Lort Smith, the staff noticed that I had an unusual gait in my hind legs. X-rays were taken, and I was diagnosed with mild bilateral hip dysplasia. Currently, I only require conservative treatment which includes anti inflammatories and restricted activity, however in the future it may progress.
I will be available as a foster to adopt for the next three weeks until I complete my course of injections. The staff will happily explain in more detail.
If you think you may be my perfect match, please contact the Adoption Hub.
