About Leo DL2550
Leo is a super affectionate, charismatic boy who loves pats, ear tickles, and belly rubs.
His favourite is towel rubs, and his favourite game is tug of war. He bonds quickly and will follow you round the house making sure you are still there. He doesn’t like his human leaving, but settles down soon after and sleeps the days away.
Leo is really good with basic commands such as sit, down and paw. If he had his way, he would be on the sofa with you the whole time, but gets down when asked and doesn’t pester to get back up. He likes to be indoors with you, especially at night. He will need a safe and secure yard so that he doesn't attempt any solo adventures.
Leo is fully house trained. His manners on the lead need a little work, so someone with experience with strong dogs is essential. He has gotten better using a harness, but is still a work in progress. He will patiently wait to cross the road if told to do so. His recall in the house and garden is really good, but needs much more work off the lead.
Leo is very excitable with other dogs, so will need ongoing socialisation practice. He hasn’t been tested too many times with other dogs, and always on the lead. From afar, he gets anxious and excited, but not aggressive. An older calm dog may help in showing him the correct manners.
Leo has no issue with visitors coming into the house, in fact he loved the attention and extra pats! He hasn’t yet been tested with children and is not suited to living with small animals or cats.
If you'd love to meet Leo, email DFLadoption@gmail.com today to apply.
Medical notes
