About George The Part Maine Coon Cat!
Beautiful George was found under an apartment crying for food and comfort. Once in foster with us, he quickly showed his wonderful true loving nature: he is a big smooch who loves pats, and always wants to sit on his human's warm lap. He has lovely soft fur, and is a big boy. We believe he may be part Maine Coon, especially as he enjoys a bath, and loves water!
George is a total sweetheart with his humans, we think he'd be ok with gentle kids. We haven't had a chance to see him with a dog, but as he's very easy going and just wants to love and be loved, there's a good chance he'd be ok with a gentle, cat-loving doggo. He has never once bitten or scratched his carer - not even playfully! Sadly George has PTSD from when he was abandoned and is not good with other adult cats, the behaviouralist says it's fear aggression and his carer has tried all the suggestions but he just doesn't cope with the other resident cats. So not other adult cats please? But if you had foster kittens, he's ok with those.
George loves belly rubs, bum scratches, and will even let you carry him like a baby - he is so placid that he almost has a Ragdoll quality about him. He also has a very goofy, playful side. He loves zooming around the house chasing mouse toys, will leap almost a metre into the air to catch a feather wand, and loves hunting other feather toys that poking out underneath his favourite purple yoga mat (which will come with him!). George is delightfully clumsy too - on any given day you might catch him misjudging a jump or rolling off the bed. He also 'bleps' quite a lot (leaves his tongue sticking out!)
George is a healthy cat who has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #956000013008998, source #RE101165). George is currently on a prescription diet for his gut, it's a bit delicate and whoever adopts him will be taking him to one of our rescue vets for checkups. Other than his occasional funny tummy, he's healthy! George is available for adoption right now!

Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
