About Trevor STA005525
Trevor has been living it rough on the streets for a while, but since being with us he has started to show that he appreciates the simple things in life; a warm place to sleep, food on demand and plenty of attention. He is slowly coming out of his shell and getting quite comfortable with the staff members he has been spending time with. He is nervous when meeting new people and gives a funny little hiss, then he laps up all the attention.
Once he is comfortable, he will happily have cuddles, sit on your lap and help you do your work, albeit sitting on your keyboard! He loves to put his paw on you whilst working and will give gentle head buts followed by curling up on your desk.
He likes his people and does get startled when someone new enters, so a quiet home would suit best. Trevor has no tolerance for other felines or children and requires an indoor only home as he is FIV+.
About FIV in Cats –
FIV cats live many years without any health problems. FIV CANNOT be transmitted to humans, dogs or other pets. FIV can only be transmitted to other cats through deep blood-drawing bite wounds

Adoption details
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend!
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
