About Tux
Our Gorgeous Tux is Adoption Ready
Very Special Forever Home Needed.
This one is a heart stealer – you have been warned
Tux is approximately 2 years old – he is a lab x Border collie and is just beautiful inside and out.
He has had a long journey from pound to today as he has struggled a little to find his place in a pack and to learn to relax and just be.
We don’t know his history but we do know he appeared calm on the outside but very anxious inside .. even in sleep he was on high alert.
He didn’t cope well with sudden movements, unexpected touches or sharing with others.
He loved to snuggle and play with other dogs but there was always a sense of anxiousness there.
So we made the decision to send him to our amazing Residential Rehab facility for specialist training and assessment… to give him the best chance to be the amazing dog we knew he could be.
Tux very quickly became a favourite on site and in a few short weeks, this smart boy has turned himself around (with a little help obviously)
He is so keen to please its almost heartbreaking and whoever is lucky enough to bring this special boy home forever with be so incredibly blessed.
Tux has learned amazing manners and is incredibly well behaved but he will need an experienced owner who is committed to maintaining his training and not allowing old habits or anxiousness to return.
Stability and leadership will be so important.
Tux plays great with other dogs, he can be a bit boisterous though. We would prefer him to be an only dog so he has the attention he needs but access to playdates would be awesome.
A Complete snuggle bug, he enjoys nothing more than laying his head in your lap for pats.
Also rather partial to a few belly scratches.
When you're scratching a really good spot he will lie completely still making funny little sounds (almost like weird dog purr - it's pretty cute ).
Toys are a weakness and as you can see his plush squeaky football is his favourite – he will often just quietly pad around with it in his mouth for company.
He doesn't mind a bit of tug of war with his rope toy and does like a game of chasey on occasion.
.
Being very food motivated "Hello Labrador" helps with his training.
We would suggest older rather than younger children as a good match – toddlers may be too full on for him.
Not a big barker ( unless you are the delivery guy )
Tux does have occasional skin issues which require medicated baths etc
Tux’s adoption fee is $450 and he is located in Carindale.
He has been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and is up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
If you would like to meet him, please send us a message with LOTS of info about yourself, your dog experience and the lifestyle you can offer Tux.
Due to COVID we are restricting the number of meet and greets that occur so will need to choose best matches from the information provided.
Only the best matches will be contacted - Thank You for Understanding
