YES we know he is adorable! But please read his full profile as Winston does come with some baggage :)
We are seeking a special home for Winnie. Winnie is an 11 year old English Cocker Spaniel who has a lot of love to give. Winnie needs a home with no young children or other pets. He has a history of displaying resource guarding behaviours which are able to be managed however important for his forever home to be aware of this and you must be willing to manage it - he's not a dog that should be spoiled like a child, he'll need rules, structure and boundaries in the home to keep his manners in check.
When Winnie was a puppy he was attacked by a bigger dog so he can be reactive when he sees other dogs (barks a bit and pulls on lead). Off-leash areas are out of the question for this boy as he will get very stressed if approached by an unrestrained dog. He can get along with smaller dogs once he gets to know them, however it is best he doesn’t live with any other animals. Winnie is cuddly, loves pats and loves sunbaking out in the garden. Winnie will need a home where he can go for on-lead walks every day, he loves walking getting outside and still has lots of energy for an old fella.
Winston is quite content to spend time alone and often takes himself out to the garden for quiet time in the sun, so he would be fine with full-time workers.
If you are dedicated to managing Winston at his worst, you will be rewarded with him at his best which is incredibly happy, friendly, sweet and affectionate! Are you Winston's Forever Family?
Medical notes
Winston does have some arthritis in his rear legs which is currently being managed with anti-inflammatory medication and showing positive results. We would like to see his new home dedicated to making sure Winston is comfortable with appropriate supplements and/or medication when required.
He has recently undergone an operation to have a non-suspicious lump removed from his side and also a full dental scale and polish. He is prone to dental issues so an appropriate diet to assist this is recommended.
