About Violet
Violet is extremely beautiful and she knows it. Ever since she was a little puppy, people have stopped and stared at her lovely fawn coat and amber eyes. All this attention has given her a complex – Voilet LOVES to be the focus. She’s a rambunctious spirit who acts like a puppy and will have you giggling all day long.
Violet would suit a large family with older children or a couple who is home a lot to keep her entertained. She’s very curious and loves to be involved in whatever is happening around her. It makes her a great companion and provides her humans with lots of laughs as she’ll try her paw at anything. She loves to play and hopes her new home has a big backyard so she can do zoomies and chase her toys. She’s got boundless amounts of energy and would suit an active family who can take her on multiple walks a day.
The transition to life as a pet has been quite the shock for Violet. She will need a dedicated owner who will commit to consistently training and socialising Violet to help her feel more comfortable in different situations. She needs to wear a muzzle on her walks as she can be reactive around other dogs. It’s a fear-based reaction, so as she learns more her behaviour improves alongside it.
Violet is a true character. She’s confident, playful and incredibly affectionate. She’s no wallflower and leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
