About Sally
Sally is a beautiful timid young lass. Very quiet and polite. She’s gentle with children, very trusting and understanding of them. She currently lives with a 2.5year old and they are best friends.
She’s had some basic training and is house trained, doesn’t go on furniture, but loves to lie on soft carpet or dog bed and it’s lounging in luxury for her. She’s come from a hard yard and chain arrangement. There’s a deep mark around her neck where the chain was, and it took days for her to know she’s welcome in the house and doesn’t need to sleep on concrete or in the bushes.
Sally is very grateful for this new life. She rewards her carers with a kiss and tail wag, which is a long way from the terrified crouching dog who wouldn’t let her carers touch her. The child was the first one Sally allowed to go near her and to pat her and lead her inside.
Sally is great on lead and travels well in the car. She is good with other dogs at home and at the park. She’s untested with cats and birds, although given her quiet and timid temperament she will likely live well with them.
She is patient and knows to wait her turn with food and rewards. She is fussy about what she’ll eat and what she won’t touch at all. She is healthy and is approx 18-24 months old. She is probably a wolfhound cross whippet, as she is tall and skinny but has wiry hair.
Sally’s ideal home would be with children (because she loves them so much) and a companion confident dog who she can copy. Although she’ll also do well in a quiet household where she can lounge around and sleep most of the day. She’ll need a daily walk and loves going to the park.
Sally will make someone very happy gazing into their soul with her big dark eyes.
Medical notes
Sally is a healthy and happy dog, she will be desexed*, vaccinated and microchipped as well as Flea and Worm treated when necessary. All of this vetwork is covered by FFAR and the adoption fee helps cover this. Sally will only need the general yearly vaccinations going forth in this regard.
*Note that Sally is currently on heat which has therefore postponed her desexing procedure. When we get the all clear from the vet to proceed, this will be completed. This means that the lucky family to adopt Sally may need to wait a little longer than anticipated so that she can have a successful op and recovery*
