About Target
One look into Target’s eyes and you will fall under his spell. He’s a truly handsome boy with a sleek shiny coat and strong, healthy body that’s full of energy,
Target is still a puppy a heart. He’s got lots of energy and would suit an active family who wants a playful dog who finds joy in every part of life. Target needs two decent walks a day and really loves to go on a jog a few times a week. Although in true greyhound style, the rest of the day he lazes around saving up energy for his next big outing! He loves to roach and generally looks quite goofy when he sleeps.
Target has grown very quickly during his time in foster care. When he arrived he was unsure of the world and a bit overwhelmed by his new environment. In a few short weeks Target has become a happy and confident dog that will settle beautifully into life as a pet. He’s very relaxed and loving, plays gently with toys, comfortably walks up stairs and is slowly getting used to car trips. He is a very clever boy and would respond well to further training.
Target would suit living in an only-dog household as he is still building his confidence around other dogs. We would recommend taking him on companion walks with other dogs regularly to help him adjust.
No cat or small dog applications please.
We only consider applications who compete our online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
