Nala

Nala is a three year old Am-Staffy ready to cuddle at all times. She’s a big girl at about 30KGs, with a beautiful cream coat and the best smile. She’s very good around people and indoors, all she wants at home is to find a comfortable spot to sleep, preferably as close as possible to her human.

She loves attention in the form of cuddles and pets. She’s not very food motivated so it’s difficult to bribe her with treats but she loves to get attention from her owner and will listen to instructions especially when being assertive with them. She understands basic instructions and is very smart and will pick up on the owner’s tone to figure out if she’s doing something wrong or not.

Nala is still working on socializing with other dogs, she’s very curious and always very excited to seek them out and interact with them but the interaction can go either way, could be just for a quick sniff or could very quickly evolve into a rough situation. She needs to work on understanding her size and the play limits with smaller dogs and work on her anxiety around bigger dogs.

As she’s a big girl she can be a force to reckon with when on lead. Her new owner should be assertive and stand their grounds to teach her self-control and they must expect to be able to pull all 30KGs of her out of any altercations with other dogs.

Nala’s ideal environment would be cat-free, preferably with no dogs but she can be tested with another dog especially if around her size and there’s room to play (backyard). She’s ok to be left alone but she does miss her human so it’s best to not leave her for extended periods of time. Her new owner should be willing to put in the time to teach her proper lead behaviour and socialization with other dogs. She will repay you with endless cuddles and love.
