About Floss
Hi, My name is Floss and I am cute as a button and sweet as fairy floss!
My foster hoomans describe me as a sweetheart but also a total dork - I don't know what they mean! I am the master of the roach and apply the motto "roach like nobody's watching". I will also treat you to countless more acts of cuteness every day should I be your newest friend! I love my foster hoomans and am very sweet and affectionate, but beware my cheeky side - I love anything fluffy, so make sure you hide your slippers or you will find me playing with them! I also love zoomies! I will do them anywhere and everywhere; my favourite places include down the hallway! I love a good car ride where I can look out the window and smell the fresh air! Its so much fun!
My new family will need to continue my training and socialisation. I require a hooman that is experienced with greyhounds and can continue my training, as I still find walking nerve-wracking and other dog breeds scary!
I can be adopted as an only dog if my family are home more often than not. I could also live with another easy going greyhound.
Summary:
Part time or WFH
Not small dog or cat friendly
If children over 15 years of age
Medical notes
Floss has a low grade heart murmur - a common finding in greyhounds due to their large hearts and thin body! Floss has had this condition from birth (it is congenital) and it causes her no problems. This has been investigated thoroughly by our vet team and requires no treatment.
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
