About Manuka
Manuka is a beautiful, gentle pup. She has no concept of how big she is and often tries to squeeze into the smallest of spaces or onto your lap. She has the most loving, beautiful temperament and has been spoilt rotten in foster care.
Manuka normally sleeps through the night with no interruptions and very rarely has any accidents inside the house. She is obsessed with her foster brother and loves her feline foster sisters. She is always up for a cuddle and pat but takes a little while to adjust to new people.Â
Manuka has a preference of being inside and will often hide when she knows itâs time for her to go outside and be a real dog. Occasionally, Manuka will whine or scratch at the door but if sheâs ignored, she almost stops immediately. She plays with toys, her foster brother and pillows. If youâre the lucky person chosen to be Manukaâs family, hide your pillows! She doesnât do damage, just likes to chew them - especially if there is a little white tag.Â
Manuka has yet to be walked on a lead as her confidence is not there yet. If you attach a lead to her collar or put a harness on her, she will hide and often urinates from fear. If you try and walk her, she drops to the ground and refuses to move. Manuka requires patience and guidance and will need someone that will work with her on these quirks which make her unique.Although Manuka has proven she can live with other dogs we ave since introduced her new new friends in the yard and she did not like themManuka has shown some aggression towards any new dogs that enter our property. For this reason, Manuka will need to go to a home where there are no other dogs. With the right and skilled new owner she has the potential to be soical but for now an only dog home is best
Manuka needs: - A person to let her sleep in their bedroom. - A person with patience to show her the world at her own pace. - A person who doesnât have any young children. - A person to work with Manuka on her aggression with new dogs. - A person who understands her challenges and accepts them. - A person who will love her unconditionally and will love her for her quirks. - A person who is home a large majority of the time. - A person to work with her on a lead and invest in future training.Â
Manuka will only go to a home that understands her needs so to be seriously considered, read her profile properly. Manuka will not be adopted out to a home with young children or anotherdog. Manuka can go to a home with cats as she loves to say hello to them as they pass one another around the home.Â
Adventures to the dog park or long car trips may not be in the best interest of Manuka due to her severe car sickness and lack of socialisation. With this quirks, she is still the most loving, affectionate, darling girl who has a special connection with her foster family which we hope to transfer to her new family.Â
Sheâs a special girl, with a stunning colour and temperament to die for. Sheâs had a very tough start to life, itâs our job to ensure she has the greatest home from now onÂ
