About Jolene
*In foster care in Newtown, Sydney*
Hey there, I'm Jolene! I'm a 2 years old. My carers say my breed's a bit of a mystery but I'm a little bit of all things awesome, if you ask me :)
Probably my favourite thing is running around and playing in the yard and the park. I can even give you a hand when gardening as I'm an expert digger - especially when I have the zoomies!
One thing you'll notice is that I've got this special, full body, salsa-esque tail wagging situation going on, which humans seem to find absolutely adorable. I bust it out if I like you and you've been away for any longer than five minutes.
... I really don't like being left alone at all, to be honest! I can also get very nervous around unfamiliar people, which is no fun at all - so my wonderful new parent will need to be willing to work with Maggie's and a vet behaviorist to help me flourish into my most confident self.
Good news, though - I'm SUPER smart and already know a bunch of basic commands that help when I'm nervous. I even do a little twirl for you when you ask nicely (treat in hand)! My recall is pretty good, too.
Like all Maggie's pets, I am microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: A nice-sized yard is a must, as I'm still quite puppyish in nature and have lots of energy to burn. My parent should be well versed in supporting nervous rescues to become settled and relaxed. Ideally, I won't be left alone a lot - a quiet environment with a retired human or couple that work from home would be best!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Super-high, when I'm out and about enjoying the world! There's so much to see and smell! I'd love to be given at least an hour of 'outside' time every day, whether that's walking the neighbourhood or racing around the park. When it's time to chill I'm very content to nap quietly beside you on the lounge or bed.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I will be happiest in a child-free home as sometimes their excitement can make me nervous.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Sadly, I find cats FAR too interesting and chase-able to be able to live with one! I could do well with a calm, gentle dog that matches my size given the proper introduction.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
