About Thelma & Louise~Greyhounds (On Trial27/09/20)
Hi there, we're Thelma and Louise. We are a bonded pair of 7-year-old female Greyhounds who are looking for our forever home together.
Thelma has the black coat and gorgeous white face. Louise has the beautiful brindle coat. Thelma and Louise were both racing Greyhounds together before arriving at the local shelter. This is where they were rescued by their new foster carer’s. During this time, they have become a close bonded pair; so, it is vital that they stay together when finding their new forever home.
Thelma and Louise love nothing more than cuddling with the humans. Thelma likes to get cuddles with her humans in bed every morning whilst Louise prefers to receive pats on the lounge throughout the day. Thelma and Louise are both inside dogs with access to the back yard. Thelma and Louise need to be able to sleep inside during the night with a coat on.
Thelma and Louise share their home with 2 other Greyhounds. Everyone eats together with no issues and everyone loves to run and play together. Thelma and Louise love to play with the many toys the humans give them; but have been known to also take your slippers and jumpers; anything fluffy that smells like the humans is pure joy for these two. Thelma and Louise have no issues sharing their toys with the other dogs and will wait their turn if wanting a particular toy that another dog is playing with.
Thelma and Louise are good on walks. They walk straight with the occasional sniff. Both girls need training when interacting with small dogs as they become overly excited and will jump and pull on their leads. Thelma and Louise also get overly excited when birds land on the footpath and will try and catch it by pulling and jumping on the lead. Thelma and Louise always need to be kept on the leash due to their reactivity and need for further training.
Thelma and Louise both get a 30-minute walk every day. If they have any more energy leftover, they will tire themselves out by playing together in the yard.
Thelma and Louise have not had any experience with small children although they have shown no signs of concern when walking past children on their daily walks. No small dogs, pocket pets or cats. Thelma and Louise would be perfectly suited to an individual, couple or family who has always at least one-person home to give them love and attention.
