Sometimes we really think our hearts cannot take any more.

Alone in the pound .. heavily lactating.

“Pups in Care elsewhere”

Her story is a sadly too common one but the total confusion on her face is so horribly confronting.

We have learnt more about her story and we do know that she is a stray who was living under a school building with a litter of pups.

We suspect she had hidden them deep, deep underneath to keep her little family warm and safe.

People could hear whimpers but no-one could get to them.

One tiny pup emerged through a vent on 12/08 and was estimated at 5 weeks old .. That pup was place in a local rescue.

A week later mum emerged, skinny and scared.

Despite best efforts over 10 days no further pups have emerged .. and there is now just total silence.

We are sick to our stomachs at the thought there may still be pups somewhere out there .. that they may be trapped, that she may have moved them, that they may simply not have made it.

We just pray that being near a school they emerged and have been taken to a warm home and are being loved by a family .. enquiries are still being made in the vain hope someone knows something.

Our efforts to reunite mum and the first pup were not successful so our only option now is to bring mum into our family and try and fix her.

Impound Number 28707 now has a name – Her name is Gracie.

We are so so sorry people let you down Gracie Girl.
