Medical Note: Things you should know about Oskar.
Oskar has a small imperfection, he is missing 2 x toes on each of his front paws. It looks slightly unusual, but it doesn’t phase him at all, and it hasn’t hampered his ability to jump up on surfaces above the ground. The other thing worth noting is that Oskar’s left pupil doesn’t contract fully and during the day, whilst most cat’s eyes have a vertical thin pupil, Oskar’s left eye is slightly more dilated. This has been checked by the vet and there are no issues with his eye, it’s merely a physical imperfection; he may just prefer to be out of direct sunlight or bright lights.
ABOUT
If Oskar was a human, you would call him a gentleman. This fine boy has had a pretty tough experience, having once been loved by someone in his earlier days, to then be surrendered. It’s incomprehensible why someone would willingly give up this boy, he has been nothing but a sweet little character, but sadly this has really rocked his confidence.
Oskar came into care in early August, frightened and unsure of his surroundings and not so sure that he could trust humans. One month later and he shows great signs of being the perfect companion for someone with a gentle soul, to match his warm, loving nature.
He has coped with being in a household with other cats, a small dog and a 6yo gentle girl, never displaying any anger or bad behaviour. But if truth be told, Oskar would be far better suited to an adults only, ‘no other animal’ household. I suspect that his loving personality, which shines through when we have one on one time, would beam through and I am sure that he would easily find the confidence he may once have exhibited, when he feels safe in new surroundings.
I don’t doubt that another change in his life would be monumental for him and as such, it’s important that he finds the right home to allow him to settle as quickly as possible.
Oskar has a beautiful thick, silky coat. He has stunning markings and if I was a betting person, I would think that maybe he has a little bit of British Shorthair in him. When we are alone, he has a warm, gentle disposition, and he’s happy to be hugged (gently) and kissed. When he is comfortable with you, he’ll even run towards you and do a head bop and ask for pats!
If Oskar is given the opportunity to come into your life, the love and affection he will give you is sure to make your heart sing.
