About Charmaine
Hello there, my name is Charmaine.
I came to BARC as a stray and no one came to get me, so here I am looking for my new home.
I haven't had the easiest time adjusting to the shelter, I am a very scared and anxious girl and find myself easily overwhelmed. The staff at BARC have given me all the time I've needed to settle in, and have even paired me up with a wonderful, confident and affectionate cat to take care of me whilst I adjust to the changes. I have come a very long way since arriving here, but I still have a ways to go.
My new home will need to have buckets loads of support, love and understanding to give to me. A nice quiet home with no children would be ideal. I will do best if I go to a home with another cat, a confident one who can help me continue to build my confidence and come out of my shell. Once I have some trust with you and can come out my shell a bit I have the SWEETEST personality. I am an absolute cuddle bug and love a snuggle and will purr loudly to my hearts content. I have a gorgeous tabby coloured medium length coat and I am just beautiful.
To help me find the best home possible BARC are taking applications of interest. Please send through your application via e-mail accompanied with a short bio into your background to barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au
Available for adoption via application only.
Please note that we will not be accepting appointments from stage 4 lock down areas and may not be in a position to respond to all email inquiries.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
