About Daisy
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Daisy
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us from the local pound.
BREED: Chihuahua X
General breed traits: They love to be with their people and are definitely companion dogs that do not like to be left alone. They are sensitive, but are dogs, and can be problematic if overindulged. They love their family but can be aloof or wary of strangers and other dogs so early socialisation is very important. Chihuahuas cannot tolerate cold or hot weather so a warm coat in the winter and care re overheating in the summer is needed - they are not outside dogs. They are bright and willful but will learn if you make it fun and although small, they have big personalities that can get them into trouble. Quick learners, they can compete in agility and obedience trials so don't dismiss a Chihuahua just because it is cute!
ASSETS: Easy going, affectionate, devoted, friendly, laidback, obedient, sweet and playful! She bounces on the spot like she's on springs ,and has a proud stance when she's walking on the lead. She thinks she's the queen!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Daisy loves to be loved! She loves to have the attention of her human and plenty of snuggles. She likes to chase her ball and loves her soft toys. She also really enjoys playtime at the beach.
OTHER ANIMALS: She gets on well with other dogs as long as they're willing to share lap space! She hasn't been introduced to cats as yet.
GENERAL INFO: Daisy is an absolute darling. She is friendly with adult visitors to her foster home and would probably do well with older children who can read her signals. She loves to run and play but also loves to snuggle. She walks well on the lead, is housetrained and she knows a few basic commands and responds well. With commitment and ongoing gentle training she will fulfill her potential and be a wonderful companion. Puppy school is a must.
HOME ESSENTIALS:
* Stability: A home where someone is home for most of the day on a permanent basis (not just through Covid 19) or can take her when they go out.
* Time: Daisy needs an owner who will put in the time to train and socialize her (structured classes where she can learn, socialise and have safe exposure are a must). 2 walks a day are essential to keep her happy.
* Space: Daisy needs a yard to run around in to burn off her playful energy, with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff.
* Love: Daisy needs to be allowed to be inside or out as she chooses, and to be included as part of the family. Due to her shaky start we will only rehome her with children who are 10+.
