About Ruby
I'm Ruby and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
AVAILABLE FROM SATURDAY 12TH
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate is a MUST for me as I'm a very shy girl at first and in lots of new situations. A doggie companion will help me build up my confidence and I LOVE playing with dogs.
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both male and female dogs
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children as they may scare me
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Previous owner has said I'm housetrained
• Very playful
• I can sit on command
• Wiggle butt
• I walk well on lead but I am used to walking in a harness so this should be continued.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Previously lived with a duck, so I may be ok with other fowl
Where I need to improve / Training required
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed. I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time. To be included in as many family activities and outings as possible will help me learn to be a confident girl. I can't go to a home with small children as they may accidentally scare me.
AN ADOPTED CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE SHELTER TO MEET RUBY IN PERSON.
ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET RUBY BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
Medical notes
I only have one kidney - this means that I am unable to hold my wee for long amounts of time and sometime express when I am scared or in a deep sleep.
