About Joe
Our 2-year old baby boy Joe is ready to find his forever humans.
Joe has settled into life as a much-loved foster pet super well and wants to show his new home just what a good and clever boy he is.
Joe has a few favourite things. Sardines. Naps. Peanut butter. Pats. Pigs ears. Naps. Car rides. And a nice long bushwalk from time to time. He’s also an excellent couch cuddler and will keep the cushions nice and warm for his lucky family.
Joe has been fostered both as a solo dog and with another greyhound. He enjoyed the company of his canine foster sibling and has made friends with some other medium to large breeds on walks. Joe could go into a forever home with a friendly canine sibling or as an only dog if his humans are home a lot to give him the attention and love he rightly demands. He does get separation anxiety when left home alone and his new family will need to continue his ‘alone training’, starting with leaving him alone for short periods only and then building up. Joe is not suited to living in a home with fulltime workers.
Joe loves going for walks and enjoys a good hike. He’s been both a city boy and a country boy and is pretty adaptable to all situations, so long as his new humans slowly introduce him to things. Inside the home, he is toilet trained, has learned some basic skills (sit, wait, ‘on your bed’) and loves to chill on the couch. He’s a clever boy and very food motivated. Being a young hound, he would benefit from a home who wanted to continue training/skills games with him.
