About Winston
I'm Winston and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR WINSTON
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW FORM
(applications close Thursday 10th of September at 4pm)
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, doggy daycare, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both male and female dogs
• I have LOTS of energy so an active family is a must
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) with no holes or gaps in the fence or gate that I can squeeze through
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I am used to being allowed inside
• Happy to live with children that are used to an exuberant doggo
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home. I can get a bit anxious when left alone and can get quite vocal.
• Ideally I would love a family with breed knowledge and experience.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• VERY playful and exuberant
• I can sit on command
• I smile
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated - this will help with any training required
• Social butterfly
• I love toys, especially squeaky ones
• Social butterfly
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog. I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I am mouthy when excited and playful - positive reinforcement will help this.
• I inhale my food so will benefit from eating out of a slow feeder bowl.
• I will bark at other dogs when I am out on a walk - further socialisation and desensitisation whilst out and about is needed.
• Being a typical puppy I have been known to chew a few thongs and other items that are left out and in my reach - lots of toys, training and other things to keep me occupied will help with this.
• I am vocal when left alone, for this reason I MUST go to a home with another dog and be with a family who has the time for me.
AN ADOPTED CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE SHELTER TO MEET WINSTON IN PERSON.
ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET WINSTON BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
Medical notes
Malformed teeth (breed related) - will need dentistry and possible extractions in the future as will likely cause issues.
