About Boots
Boots – A Very Special case needing a very special forever home ❤️
We are not rushing to find a home for this little guy – we need to wait for his perfect to come along – it is out there.
Firstly, Boots is an absolute sweetheart.
He is a funny, cheery little Jack Russell and still only a pup at about 2 years old.
Super friendly, he just loves people of all shapes and sizes.
He has a dash of traditional JRT cheekiness and stubbornness here and there, but which just adds to his charm.
This baby is a dream to have around the house.
He listens well and loves treats and squeaky toys.
However prior to coming into our care Boots was seriously attacked by a larger dog – he was hospitalized for 3 weeks.
This has left him with a crippling fear of other dogs .. not just a little fear but an overwhelming fear.
The sight of another dog sends him into an absolute panic meaning walks and social interactions with other dogs are difficult.
He also suffers separation anxiety if left alone too long.
Boots is on medication for his anxiety which appears to be helping him – this may or may not be for life so is a cost his new owners must be prepared for.
There is no aggression in his reactivity – it is just barking – but it does pose a challenge.
He is doing so well with his carer – he is surrounded by adults in a calm and quiet environment and is thriving.
He has his little “safe” spot he can go to if he needs to and is quick to take himself off there if needed.
We cannot say how he will change over time, but we do know where he is now and we do know what he needs to be happy – we will not compromise on that.
So that is Boots – our very special boy needing a very special, patient and understanding home.
If you think that could be you please do send us a message with LOTS of information about yourself, the home you can offer Boots and why you think you are his perfect.
Please understand that we are all volunteers here – we do expect a lot of enquiries about this little guy – we will only be able to respond to those we feel are the best potential matches.
Thank you for understanding this.
Boots is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and is up to date with his flea / tick / worm treatments.
He is in foster care in Wilson and his adoption fee will be $550
