About Leo ~ Male Ginger (On Trial 12/09/20)
Meet our little Lion Leo! Leo is a ten month old, male, ginger kitten (for a couple more months!) Leo was surrendered to DRN and we are discovering his full personality day by day. Leo’s foster carer says he is a very smart boy, with a cheeky and playful attitude.
He is a very very handsome boy, with striking eyes and soft fur. At ten months old, he’s already a large cat, the same size as his 7 year old foster brother!
All cats are curious, but Leo is particularly so. Leo hadn’t experienced a ride in the car, or even being in a cat carrier until he came to his foster carer’s house. A lot of things are very new him, but he is taking these experiences in his stride.
He’s been the perfect house guest and very well behaved! Using his litter tray without any issues, joining his foster family to relax on the couch, and even completely charming his carer’s own cat (who doesn’t usually like other cats!). His foster carer loves watching him play and chase her cat. She also says that Leo is just so beautiful to look at.
Leo is a whole lot of fun to play with, to relax with, to pat, scratch and just watch.
Leo previously resided in a house with children, so he will be completely fine to go to a new home with kids around. He has also proven to be entirely cat friendly, if you have an existing cat who would like a companion, or if you would like to introduce another cat or kitten in the future!
Leo has not been tested with dogs. Dogs and cats require a planned and gradual introduction - and the resident dog must be well-behaved and cat friendly.
Leo would suit almost any household, but he will need some time and understanding to settle in - again, he’s had a bit of a sheltered life and he’s trying to absorb every new experience!
But this is the case with most older kittens and cats, and the internet is full of resources on how to settle your rescue cat in. As much as you want to shower them with love straight away!
He would love a little cat cave or tower to hide in and climb, and a snuggly mat to sleep on... Oh... and plenty of toys! Leo is available for adoption for to an indoor-only home and his adoption fee is $200. For more information or to meet Leo please contact Ness at catsandkittensdrn@gmail.com.
Leo is in foster care in Fletcher, NSW (Suburb of Newcastle NSW). All his vet work is covered by his adoption fee which including desexing, microchip & vaccinations.
