About Shadow
The lovely Shadow was living on the streets in Canley Vale before she was rescued and SAFE took her in. We decided that the best place to send this vulnerable 9 month old kitten into the loving arms of one of our experienced foster care families. On arrival she was very confused and frightened.
But my, after a few months what a difference there's been! Shadow is now a purring, playful sweetie...
It has been a gradual process but with patience, time, love and food, Shadow's carers have successfully bonded with her to the point where they can now pick her up and stroke her. She would have definitely been a foster fail if the carer's older cats were not around.....you see, Shadow is big on playing and has so much energy she sometimes doesn't know when to stop. The younger cat enjoys joining in the fun but the older cats (who a bit more set in their ways!) are not keen on the antics these youngsters get up to. This means that if you have an older resident cat, Shadow would not be the right fit. However if you have a younger, playful cat, with the proper introduction, it could work out.
Her foster mum says "Shadow is such a cutie who adores being brushed! We have come to love her and would definitely keep her if we could.
Shadow is not a kitten that you can just walk in, pick up and stroke. She has made great progress in her foster home but is still a little skittish, and it will take a while for her to warm to you. This will be a special adoption where you will need to work closely with Shadow's foster carer for the first few weeks. If you are willing to work to our plan she will gradually come to trust you and will become the purring sweetie you can see in the video.
Shadow will be adopted from her foster home in Belrose, Sydney. Please call us to discuss if Shadow is a match for you!
