Our lovely Lola is looking for a very special family. Lola is the sweetest girl but she is very timid and only once she trusts those around her does she become her true affectionate, cuddly self. Lola needs a family who can work with her trust issues, be PATIENT and EXTRA LOVING so that she may thrive and feel fully relaxed and happy. She needs a family who can help her come out of her shell and truly shower her with cuddles and affection, not just leave her to sit on the couch all day alone like she will tend to do. Lola is truly a couch potato but we think in time when she is feeling settled in her new home she will be a little more energetic. Her adopters need to be understanding and willing to work with her and accept her personality as it changes over time as she feels comfortable in her environment and becomes her natural happy self. This willingness to work with Lola over time is an essential attribute in anyone wishing to apply for her adoption.
EXERCISE: Lola will convince you that all she wants to do is laze on the couch all day beside you but she does require a nice long walk a day being an XL breed. Keeping her active will help her feel more energised. She is not strong on the lead and is a breeze to walk, however because of her size and initially her fear of strangers she needs strong handlers who can handle 52KGS if she does happen to bolt out of fear! Once she trusts her new carers this tendency should diminish.
TRAINING: Lola is totally house trained and she will scan your house for the closest couch or bed! She comes when called and follows you around once she gains your trust.
CHILDREN: Lola loves children and would flourish in a home with kids who love dogs. She is huge and her size could be overwhelming for really little ones however.
OTHER ANIMALS: Lola is very chill and on walks she doesn’t even react to dogs that walk past. We think however she may have a bit of a prey drive and smaller dogs can get on her nerves. She needs a home that doesn’t have smaller dog members. Dogs her size she is fine with and she will happily play with them. She can be territorial/stand offish to new dogs. Male dogs her size seem to be her best match and we think if she lived with one this would help bring out her personality! Lola is unfortunately not cat friendly at all.
NEEDS & REQUIREMENTS: Please read her specific needs here summed up and answer to yourself if you think you can meet her requirements as an adopter before you apply:
• A cat and small animal free home.
• A very patient and very loving owner who can work with her timid nature and provide a lot of encouragement.
• A home without very young children.
• A home with a current dog close to her size or no dogs and cats at all.
• A home where someone is home majority of the time especially so she can really be showered with affection initially.
Our Loly is a sweetheart and she deserves someone special. Thank you for choosing to adopt, if you find yourself suitable please send through an application and we will get in touch as soon as possible.
