About Ruby
Hello! My name is Ruby.
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks living with my foster family – two adults and two kids, aged 11 and 13 – and they have grown to love me and my goofy ways. I have a doggy foster brother and there's also a cat that lives in my home - I am learning not to chase him however it is still very tempting - I'd prefer a home with no cats if possible.
I’m a 2.5 year old greyhound x bull arab mix. In my past life, I didn’t get to go on walks very often so I am still learning and practicing walking on a lead. There are sooo many good smells out there it is easy for me to forget my training, but I’m getting there, and I’ll do anything for a treat.
I am also new to being inside, but because I am polite this has been no issue. I will sit and stay on my bed. I will enter rooms when invited and happily go outside if asked to do so. I’m an affectionate girl and if I catch you sitting on the floor or your face is at my level, I like to sneak in a kiss!
I don’t chew my toys but carry them around like I’m the cleverest girl in town. My favourite toy is a neck pillow (no judging, this is a safe place!) and I love to carry it around the house and the yard before snuggling up with it to have a snooze. My favourite game is fetch I could play that game forever! I love to bring the rope back to your feet and drop it so you can throw it again!
I have been de-sexed, vaccinated and am fully house trained. I'm a really quick learner and I'd love to be able to continue my training, both in basic obedience skills and also things like impulse control (place training) as well as learning to play tug!
Adoption details
Please do not send an "Enquiry". Please instead follow the below steps:
Step 1: Fill in our application form with as much detail as possible - https://forms.gle/sPnL6QS2ik5A5XUR8
Step 2: If suitable, one of our foster carers will contact you via phone to further discuss the dog you have applied for and assess suitability. The same will also be done for other applicants.
Step 3: A meet and greet will then be organised so that you and the dog can meet.
Step 4: Once the meet and greet has been completed, if our team advises that you may be a suitable candidate you will then be required to submit a detailed written application (a template will be emailed to you) - we will then assess all applications and get back to you with an outcome. We may request a home inspection prior to finalising any application.
Dogs are offered for a trial period in new homes for 21 days before the adoption is confirmed.
No entire dogs will be re-homed under any circumstances.
