About Mikey and Stan
FOSTER HOMES NEEDED.
Indoor cage can be supplied to foster carers.
Please do some research on what's involved in adequately housing and caring for guinea pigs before enquiring.
Please also let us know what type of cage/enclosure you will be using.
Guinea pigs make wonderful pets and like all other animals they need lots of room to run and play and most enjoy human interaction once they feel safe with their people. They're not pets to be put in a hutch outside and forgotten about.
We prefer our guinea pigs to be indoors with supervised outdoor time, there's a lot of information available about having indoor guinea pigs and we are happy to give advice.
Guine pigs require a specific type of diet consisting of a variety of vegetables and fruits and they need a constant supply of fresh hay.
Mikey and Stan came into our care from a shelter with 10 other guine pigs, they came from a home with a large number of guinea pigs and it looked like they hadn't been handled. They were underweight and not in a great condition but they are now doing much better.
5 days after arrival Mikey needed to be rushed to the vet to have one of his eyes removed due to a possible hay poke/ injury.
These boys are still quite nervous about being handled and don't like being picked up but they will snuggle up in a blanket and sit quietly on your knee. They won't be suited to children who want a pet to hold and cuddle. They are getting more confident and will take food from their carers hand.
Please contact us if you think you can offer these boys the type of home we're looking for.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
