About Savu
Beautiful older girl Savu is affectionately known as Suzie and she is looking for a quiet retirement home. This sweet lady came into our care with severe flea allergy dermatitis and yeast infection, an ear infection and general lack of care (e.g. extremely long nails). Her recovery and return to health is going awesome! Her ears are happy again and her nails are short. Her skin recovery has been beyond belief. We are not sure if she will get all of her coat back but she’s no longer dealing with the infection and flea allergy. She has been on a fresh food balanced diet with some supplements to support her body and its recovery. Her amazing foster carer from The Balanced Canine Sydney will be able to provide guidance on how to continue her care.
Suzie is very sensitive to people and needs time to adjust and trust. She doesn’t need anyone to feel sorry for her though – she will need the same rules and boundaries as any other dog to help her be mentally balanced. Her new home should have someone home more often than not. She can live with another dog or dogs for company but they would need to respect her as an older dog who doesn’t want to be amongst any crazy business. Due to her sensitivity around people she is not suitable for a home with children or a busy home as she gets spooked by sudden movements and feet.
At night, Suzie will sleep in your bed under the blankets or under the blankets in a bed on the floor. She won’t jump up on the bed uninvited. She loves to snooze on the lounge next to you. She can get up by herself most of the time using a foot rest or will ask you to help her if she feels you need to earn your keep! Her favourite thing is sun baking. She gets a look of pure joy on her face when lying in the sun so it is important that there is a lovely sunny spot or two in her new home for her to choose from.
She likes to go for a short work around the block but don’t’ let the lead touch her legs or she will scream blue murder! It’s a bit confronting the first time you experience it! She will alert bark to passer-by’s and the postie. She doesn’t overdo it though and will listen when you tell her shh but for this reason she is not suitable for apartment/unit living. Suzie is toilet trained and uses a doggie door but if it’s really cold you need to escort the princess outside. Her dislikes include being carried around and having baths and nails being done but she does accept it.
If you can offer an experienced home that can continue to give her TLC for the rest of her life, then please apply by completing a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
