About Cynthia
Cynthia is friendly, playful and tolerant. She is a bit shy when you first meet her, but once you get to know each other you’ll have a friend for life. She is playful and loving – both of humans and other cats. She’s quite curious and will happily play by herself or with others. She is talkative and likes to be around humans and know where you are in the house. She's used to children so would be a great family pet. Cynthia needs a home with either another cat to play with, or someone home for the majority of the time. She loves to play with her little toy mouse and gumnut and throw them around for ages! She loves to be patted, particularly on the cheeks, but will need some initial time to get to know you, which is perfectly normal with any cat anyway. Her favourite sleeping place is right at the end of your bed, keeping your toes nice and warm. :-)
2. Would prefer a home without children?
Cynthia’s foster home has two older children. We think she would be okay with younger children once she got to know them.
3. A home with lots of activity, some activity, quiet atmosphere?
Cynthia is used to a more peaceful home and quieter atmosphere.
4. Someone needs to be home all day, part of the day, evenings?
Cynthia is okay to be left during the day, however she has grown used to having the other cats around and me working part time from home – so she might experience some anxiety transitioning to being a only cat home alone for long periods of time.
5. How many hours a day did you leave the animal alone and how did they react?
We are quite busy on the weekends and in and out of the house during the day. Cynthia is fine with this. She has also been okay with being left with the other cats as I’ve started to transition back to work.
6. What other animals has the cat lived with and how did they get along?
Cynthia has been living with two other cats since September/October – Baxter (3yrs) and Luna (1yr). Cynthia absolutely loves being around other cats and would be well suited to a home with another cat. After the initial period of settling in all three cats get along and have lots of fun play fighting and chasing each other around the house.
7. Favourite toys?
A small fake mouse and a gumnut
9. Used to patting, brushing, being picked up and cuddled?
Once she gets to know you, Cynthia loves being patted – especially on the cheeks; and will come and sleep on the end of your bed. She’s not totally comfortable being picked up, but that would definitely change once she trusted you..
10. List 3 good qualities and 3 qualities that need improvement.
Good qualities: Loving, playful, talkative
Needs improvement: Sharing a litter box with other pets, scratching the sofa (but responds well to verbal warnings), giving other cats personal space
11. Anything else you’d like to add?
Cynthia is such a pretty girl and would make her furever family very happy with her happy and friendly nature.
Adoption details
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our cats being previously stray and rescued from struggling to survive on the street, we have a strict NO CATS OUTDOORS policy. This is because although our cats have been rehabilitated from their past, their brain still retains fear towards 'outside', as living wild was only ever scary to them, they are not the same as domestic cats who've grown up in human homes since kittenhood. This is important to keep in mind if you were hoping to adopt from us and have your adopted cat living inside and outside, or even just with supervised time outside, as unfortunately it won't be possible. Please consider this before making an enquiry. Thankyou <3

Sunny Days is a registered charity with Tax Deductible Gift Recipient status, and runs a non profit rehabilitation centre for stray and feral cats in Geelong, Vic, focusing on the rescue, rehab and rehoming of ‘true stray’ cats. These are cats who’ve grown up with very little or no experience with humans; cats and kittens who would otherwise be ignored, hit by cars, baited, euthanised or die alone of illness or hunger. In our rehab centre, we see each cat as an individual, requiring it's own individualised rehoming program.
