About Pierre
Pierre
This adorable little boy is Pierre....he's our 6 month old chocolate face fawn/cream Frenchie, and quite the little charmer! Pierre is in care with 4 other dogs and enjoys the company of everyone. He would be best suited to a home where he had the company of another smaller, playful dog, and a decent size yard to run around. He's extremely playful, with toys and his favourite toys are anything that squeaks!
Pierre is quite content to spend time outside with his doggie friends and loves to soak up the sunshine. We are currently going through the process of toilet training and follows the lead of the other dogs when outside, using the grass to do his business. He is also learning to sit when getting treats or meals and is very patient when dinner preparation is happening.
Pierre certainly has quite a big personality....weighing in at 14kg, Pierre can hold his own when playing with the 'big' dogs, often using his back end to nudge them when playing. He is quite a mouthy pup when excited so bite inhibition training is in progress....but when this boy is ready for sleep, he loves nothing more than to snuggle in your arms or in your lap.
As with most pups, everything he finds in his path is given the chew test, so plenty of chew toys and tasty bones will need to be on hand. Whilst Pierre enjoys spending time outside, the French Bulldog breed are primarily inside dogs. Pierre is in the process of toilet training and it crate trained at night for bed with no accidents.
Despite their glum expression, the French Bulldog is comical and entertaining. They are quite stubborn and can be challenging to train, yet also surprisingly sensitive, remembers what they learn, and responds well to early, patient, persistent training that utilizes food motivation.
Snorting, snuffling, and flatulence go with the territory of short-faced breeds. We recommend doing your research on the breed before choosing to own one, as they do come with a range of health issues and require certain needs.
We are looking for a family or person who is willing to put in the time and effort with training and socialisation for Pierre and also someone who understands the needs and health issues of the French Bulldog. He will need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that he grows up to be a well mannered and socialised boy. Pierre will not get much bigger when fully grown. He is a beautiful natured puppy, and given the right environment we are sure that he will grow up to be an extremely loyal, well mannered family member.
So if you've done your research and decided that you can provide everything this boy needs, please send us an enquiry. He is located in Glenning Valley on the Central Coast NSW.
Medical notes
Microchipped
Vaccinated (1st & 2nd & 3rd)
Desexed
Wormed
Flea Treated
Vet checked
Spinal X-ray
Nares and Pallet checked.
Due to their 'screw' tails, they are susceptible to a condition known as 'hemivertebra of the spine'. When hemivertebra is present in your dog’s tail, it typically is not an issue. When it is in their spine, it can lead to serious problems. The deformity of the vertebrae will lead to a twisting of the spine which can compress your dog’s spinal cord. Hemivertebra can be minor, where only one or two vertebrae have the deformity and the dog does not experience any clinical signs. In some cases, the dog will experience minor symptoms; in other cases, the condition will significantly impact the dog’s ability to function.
Pierre's x-rays reveal only 1 so no risks for this boy.
Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
