About Zirras
If you’re looking for a big goofy dog that makes you laugh every day then look no further than Zirras.
Zirras came into care without much exposure to the outside world, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking everything in his stride and is just a joy to be around. His funny antics such as striking yoga poses and his love for licking watermelons make his foster carers laugh daily!
He is learning new things every day and his training is coming along well. He is mastering the basics such as sit, stay, how to cross a road safely and how to walk on a leash properly. His toilet training is coming along well but he does have the occasional number 2 accident inside so his new owner will have to continue his training so he understands where the proper place to toilet is.
A good amount of exercise is needed for this boy, so a nice sized yard where he can run around, chase a ball or roll in the grass would suit. He also requires a good daily walk and potential doggy play time. He's being slowly socialised with other dogs and although can be a little shy at first, quickly warms up. His new owner will need to be committed to his ongoing socialisation with stable, friendly dogs.
Zirras will require an experienced, dog savvy family that is committed to his ongoing development, training, socialisation and happiness. His new family should be willing to gently and positively expose him to the world around to help build his confidence and sense of security as he can sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by loud noises or new people rushing up to him to say hello.
An affectionate dog, he loves having a cuddle, tummy rubs and lying next to you on the couch and be by your side everywhere else!! He's an amazing companion and is easily best buddy material. He sleeps well during the night in his bed on the floor of the foster carer’s bedroom. His new family must be able to provide him with a warm, comfy bed inside to sleep of a night.
Zirras will require a home with people at home most of the time as he's currently still finding his feet and lacks a sense of security. He would do fine with another mature and stable dog at home. Due to Zirras being a little on the shy side, we feel he would do best in a home without children until he finds his feet and the noise of a busy household won’t overwhelm him as much.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
