About Major
Please let us take this moment to introduce you to Major a gorgeous boy who’s rugged looks will you have thinking he is a tough guy but secretly he is a big softy who once comfortable in his surroundings blossoms
Major is a 1 year and 10 month old German Shepherd who is just waiting for his chance to find his forever family.
Major is a bit unsure of new people and does tend to bark for a few minutes when meeting - his foster mum is working on this with him and this will be something that his new family will need to continue with – Major just needs to know that new people are okay and he is protective of his home and family.
Major was a bit unsure when he first came into care of other big breed dogs (he has since had some awesome play dates with all sizes and once he is comfortable he loves to play as long as they are not too rough – he really is the most gentle boy ever.) Major will be happy to be with another dog (as long as not rough and dominant) or as a single dog family.
Major is currently in foster with a 8 year old child and Is very gentle and loving towards him.
Major does have a favorite teddy that he enjoys carrying around and snoozing with.
Major is untested with cats
Major is only young still however has the most amazing manners and nature.
Major is currently enjoying hanging out with his foster family and yes that means sleeping inside in the house on his dog bed at night – something he would definitely love to continue.
Major would very much like to be a active member of his new families lives - hanging out inside with his family, or being outside for family time, going for a walk (Major does enjoy a good sniff along the way) basically just being with his family
Major has a lot of love to give, and any family would be lucky to have him part of their lives.
Due to Major's size, we would recommend either no young children or children that are used to big breed dogs

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby.
