Hey friends!

My name is Moose and I am the sweetest, most loyal friend you could ever ask for. I was found roaming the scrub outside of town, assumed dumped - the people on my microchip denied knowing anything about me, and I was eventually handed to OTC for a fresh start. I was a little thin and had ear infections, but with some basic treatment I was in tip top shape! I am a mastiff x bulldog mix, and fully grown at 36kg.

Since coming into care, I have been a dream to care for! I am very well housetrained, and sleep through the night without a peep. I love the company of other dogs, and get along with them all. So far I have lived with a teen female dog, 2 adult females, and 2 adult males. We all got along great, although the big male dog here beat me up a bit, so maybe I would be best off living with either smaller males, or females? I got pretty scared when he wooped me!

I spend my days hanging out in the yard with the other dogs while my carer is at work, and then I come inside at night. I live behind a 6ft fence which is the ideal height for me so I can be safely contained. I travel well in the car and love to go for rides, they're so fun!! I am also well behaved at the vet. I can be nervous there, but just let them gently check me over and do what they need to do. As long as there are treats and pats, I'm happy! My favourite things are fetch, wrestling with other dogs, and getting belly rubs. I also have a very special best friend...a stuffed unicorn toy. I carry it everywhere with me!

Commands I know are sit, shake, wait, come, and downstairs. I am good with baths, they're not my favourite but I am very compliant and will just stand there and wait for you to finish. I will let you clip my nails, and will do pretty much anything for a treat! I am a dog that does not like the dog park or very busy areas; I can get overwhelmed with so many dogs in my face, and can't tell who is my friend and who is my foe. I am much happier to be socialised in smaller, controlled environments- I prefer meeting dogs in the backyard where I know I am safe. I am a great walking buddy- my carers use a 'halti' which stops me pulling, and I love to find all the good sniffs along the trail! We also walk into town sometimes and that's a lot of fun, I love to get pats from new friends!

I am a very relaxed dog, who rarely barks - only making noise if someone is at the gate. I spend half my time napping in the sun or on the couch when I am inside. I love to sunbake and enjoy the good weather. I am a very easy dog to care for. I am so loving that I will do anything to please you, and I am gentle and calm. I will make an excellent pet for someone! My ideal home has 6ft fencing, will take me on walks 4 times a week to see new things and smells, and will let me inside as part of the family at night. I like kids, and am suited to children over 7yrs old. I do not like cats and can not live with any. I am fine living on my own, but would also love a doggy sibling for company!
